Credentialing Specialist

Instructor certification is essential to maintain the integrity and industry credibility of LAPSEN microcredentials. Standardized instructor training ensures that all educators deliver the content consistently and accurately, meeting the expectations of both industry partners and educational institutions. Certification verifies that instructors understand the competencies, assessments, and performance standards tied to each microcredential. This process strengthens the credibility of the credential itself, ensuring it reflects authentic, validated industry skills nationwide.

Training

Training will be available both in-person and online to provide flexibility for participants. In-person sessions will be offered at conferences, and states, state ACTE conferences, or school districts may also host on-site sessions. Each training session consists of eight hours of certified professional development, ensuring instructors gain the full competency and certification required to teach LAPSEN Microcredentials.

National Standards

All skill rubrics and procedures were developed by a national team of experts to establish a unified, standardized model for instruction and assessment. This national framework provides consistency and credibility across programs. Once instructors have taught and evaluated using the LAPSEN model, they are encouraged to incorporate local adaptations or variations to address regional needs and practices.

Consistency

The training focuses on the LAPSEN Microcredential standards, ensuring instructors understand and apply the defined skill competencies. Instructors are expected to teach and assess students according to these standardized outlines. This approach promotes consistency across programs and strengthens the credibility and value of the credentials to employers and industry partners.
