YOUTH AGENCY RECRUITING TRACK
Agencies from across the country are invited to participate in the first conference focused on youth recruitment. The best way to build a sustainable recruitment program is to intentionally tap into college programs, high school career programs, cadet posts, and other places youth interested in law and public safety can be found. Presentations on best practices, successful recruitment, and ways to “grow your own” will be offered over two days. Opportunities to network with other recruiters and agencies will cross the conference. Finally, participants will provide insight into the LAPSEN Career Pipeline project.
Who Should Attend?
Agency recruiters, community outreach officers and administrative team members will all benefit from participation. Fire, public safety, law enforcement, emergency medical and corrections are all areas of concentration. There will be sessions, workshops and networking not only with other agencies, but also high school programs, school work programs and colleges.
Never before have all the components of successful recruitment programs met in a single space. Over the two days agencies will be able to learn more about other agency successes, how high schools are preparing hundreds of thousands of young people for careers, changes in cadet organizations, and ways to integrate community programs into the big picture of establishing a supply of highly qualified applicants for employment.
Agencies with strong recruitment programs, cadet programs and similar strategies that would benefit participants are encouraged to present.
