Excellence in Education Track
The best and largest conference in law and public safety education keeps getting better! This year there will be sessions in every pathway and covering every area critical to making programs the best they can be!
On Sunday there will be preconference training to certify instructors to certify their students in 9-1-1 dispatch as well as NFPA 2400 Drones for Public Safety. For the first time ever, the LAPSEN microcredentialing instructor certification will be offered. Basic CSI as well as Basic Law Enforcement will be offered!
On Monday the conference will begin with a new cohort. The industry recruitment conference merges with the LAPSEN conference giving attendees more choices to maximize career preparation and transition. The traditional LAPSEN conference offerings will all be there, plus many more sessions in careers.
Finally, on Tuesday the conference will continue but also add CTE administrators and WBL leaders. Regular sessions and workshops on WBL will be offered. It will truly be the best conference ever!

CSI Micro-Credential Certification – Basic
This eight hour class will certify instructors to train and certify their students in the Basic set of CSI microcredentials. The training reviews best practices in labs and hands on activity, evaluation criteria, as well as teaches various CSI skills regardless of previous training.
The LAPSEN Micro-Credential Certification is a new training and student certification initiative to document student career ready skill sets. The Basic Set covers most crime scene recording and documentation skill sets as well as evidence collection.

Law Enforcement Micro-Credential Certification – Basic
This eight hour class will certify instructors to train and certify their students in the Basic set of Law Enforcement microcredentials. The training reviews best practices in labs and hands on activity, evaluation criteria, as well as teaches various CSI skills regardless of previous training.
The LAPSEN Micro-Credential Certification is a new training and student certification initiative to document student career ready skill sets. The Basic Set covers handcuffing, booking, searches, field sobriety and other basic skill sets.

NECI 9-1-1 Basic Instructor Certification
This eight hour class will certify instructors to train and certify their students in the NECI 9-1-1 Basic Dispatch operator certification. Instructors without dispatch experience may need to take an online course prior to the training. The certification demonstrates students have the basic knowledge, skills, and experience to understand the functional operation of an emergency communications system, and their role and responsibilities within the emergency communications system.

NFPA Drones Instructor Certification
This eight hour class will certify instructors to train and certify their students in the NFPA 2400 Standard for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) Used for Public Safety Operations (2019 edition) certification.
The certification demonstrates students have the basic knowledge of drone operations in the public safety environment. This certification is very popular with students as it has good amount of flying time.

Xplorlabs: The Science of Fire Forensics
This four hour class will guide instructors through a virtual burn scene analysis using real-world fire safety science. Attendees will participate in hands-on investigations of fire science and use their skills to determine the cause of the fire.
Xplorlabs.org is a free resource made by teachers for teachers using the expertise of world renowned researchers at The Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI).
